Antique Early1900’s LONG NURSE CAPE COAT Brocade WOOL Satin Lined MAGNIFICENT.
This is a truly magnificent Antique Early 1900’s LONG BLACK NURSE CAPE COAT. It is made of a very heavy black wool with a delicate shiny brocade design. Lined with a satin twill fabric. Inside left breast is a small gathered satin pocket with ruffle. No pockets. Closes with 6 very large hook and eyes down top front, with a small hook and eye on collar to tighten collar up higher. Top is lined additionally with cotton batting and whole coat has a extra layer of regular wool. (Opening at a couple parts of seam were opened in past, probably to check construction. Easily restitched.) Lining intact in excellent condition. Some pulls on brocade at left top. Overall brocade in otherwise good condition except light fading at edge of fabric where exposed to light.
Neck 14 1/2”, at mid collar: 13 1/2”. Length from shoulder to bottom: 44”.
